Helphire celebrates Xmas in X-Factor style and raises funds for charity
Helphire employees based in Bath and Bristol once again did their bit for charity this festive season by holding an X-Factor style talent contest at their Christmas Party in December.
A nine-piece Helphire house-band - including Chief Executive Mark Jackson - was recruited from across the company. Over thirty Helphire contestants were whittled down to just five finalists who performed on the night for audience and judging panel votes, to be crowned Helphire X-Factor Winner 2006 and win a donation of £500 to their charity of choice.
Performing on the night were, Natalie Cox-Mullings, Effie Corby, Ben Sayer, Sarah Billington-Kelly & Ben Thorn and Tristan Darby. Natalie Cox-Mullings was crowned winner, choosing Cancer Research UK as her charity of choice.
Gayatri Barua-Howe, spokesperson for Helphire commented, "The event was a huge success and a real eye-opener into just how much talent we have amongst our colleagues! The performers and band really threw themselves into the contest who rehearsed every week in the run up to the party; we even had our own versions of the infamous X-Factor judges giving comments on the night! It's fantastic to be able to have fun and contribute in some way to charity at the same time."
