Performance / Load tester

Our IT department are currently seeking a Performance/Load Tester to load test in-house business systems to ensure the level of performance required to meet the group's operational and business requirements, thereby maximising the group's shareholder value.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • To manage performance testing for Helphire's business systems solutions.
  • Co-ordinate requirements gathering from the business.
  • Design and execute load tests and report findings.
  • Co-ordinate setup of test environments/platforms.
  • Question the systems design if necessary, raising issues of consistency or highlighting technical weaknesses.
  • To contribute to continuous improvement of quality assurance practices and procedures.

Within this role you will work closely with colleagues (analysts, architects, developers, project managers, business partners) to agree and undertake the appropriate level of testing on software development projects and contribute to continuous improvement of group business systems.

The ideal candidate will hold sound experience of load testing, software quality assurance and the software development cycle as well as experience of Proxy Sniffer load testing tool. Ideal applicants will have the ability to take ownership of tasks and gather requirements as required along with the ability to analyze the system architecture and find possible bottlenecks from it. Knowledge of RDBMS (MSSQL) and Middleware (BizTalk) essential, as is a flexible, detailed and thorough approach to work. The ideal candidate will boast strong communication and analytical skills. ISEB certification in software testing and experience of Agile software development projects (Lean, SCRUM) beneficial. Knowledge of network components and protocols, load balancing and non-functional testing desirable.
