Gemma Rammage
Trainee Business Analyst
I first considered a career in insurance after I left college in 1998 and started working for an insurance company. After a year I left to work for Orange, staying there for two-and-a-half years. It was in January 2002 that I decided I wanted to move back into the insurance industry and joined Albany - I think my experience of dealing with clients over the telephone and understanding of insurance really helped me get the job.
I feel I have developed well during my time with the company. I started as a new claims advisor, and in early 2005 I was promoted to team coach, working within the training department. I have recently had a further promotion - to trainee business analyst - which is very different to anything I have previously done. But I'm definitely looking forward to the challenge. Another high point was being awarded employee of the year for 2006 - quite a surprise!
It's a great working environment here - everyone's very friendly and there is always someone available to offer support. There is always an element of healthy competition too, with regular incentives and some good department nights out as a result.
