Shaun Sawyer
Senior Negotiator, Swinton Technical Team
Before joining Helphire in February 2004 I worked for the Appeals Service within the Department of Work Pensions. This involved building submissions for court cases, so my legal experience was an advantage when applying. I had heard Helphire was a reputable company to work for, with a fun environment too.
It proved to be true. Everyone I work with is friendly and approachable. If I find myself with a problem, someone's always willing to help out. The people are what make this company in all honesty; I know you've probably heard that many times, but it's the truth. There are targets to achieve and commission to be earned, so it's good to crack on. But all the time, the atmosphere is positive and encouraging.
I am now at a senior level within the ABI Collections department, and have attended the 'Stepping into Management' course. My aim is to become a team leader; in the longer term I'd like to work in project/change management, as I would love the opportunity to use my imagination and business knowledge more. What else does the future hold? I'm currently looking at ways to raise money for the Intensive Care unit in Bath RUH, so may be swimming the channel to France
